Gail, Brian and Jo welcome you to The Greyhound and are keen that you enjoy this lovely old pub.
We are proud that almost all our food is sourced locally. Our meat comes from Nick Tett the Butcher, and our fruit and vegetables are supplied by Anthony at Fruit 'n Two Veg. Both these shops are close by, on The Square.
Offering hospitality in Beaminster for many years...
- The Greyhound has a large main bar where you can reserve a table for a meal
- There is also a smaller Snug, which is quieter and is sometimes used for meetings
- Short-term parking is available in The Square, and longer-term parking in the Yarn Barton public car park (see local map)
The Greyhound is often awarded a Medal in the annual Taste of the West competition, most recently winning Gold in the South West Dining Pub category. So when ordering a meal do not miss our ever-changing “blackboard specials” above the bar!

A real pub
Sometimes we are busy when thirsty local singers, bell-ringers or walkers arrive in a group for much-needed refreshment.
At other times it's more leisurely, with people having a quiet drink and catching up on local news.
Dog-friendly
As owners of greyhounds we certainly are dog-lovers! Well-behaved dogs are always welcome at The Greyhound, even at the end of a muddy walk.
Local beers, local gins
Our draught ales are brewed by Palmers, just a few miles away in Bridport.
And our gins are distilled in the West Country as well: Conker (Bournemouth), Lyme Bay (Axminster), Seven Swans (Bridport) and Tarquin (Cornwall).
